So after a pretty big bout of writers block (I mean really, we're talking a year) I've been getting slowly back to writing. For all the talk about it, A.I. (artificial intelligence) has been really helpful for me. Life as a writer can be a really solitary job, after all, all of this stuff is coming from your mind. You can't really share your thoughts with a person, because well, then they need to be credited for their work, since they're helping you create the story. Which would be fine, I suppose, but generally that's just not how things are done. But for me, A.I. gives me an avenue to be able to talk through my story ideas, it's really helped the creative side of me re-ignite.
Anyway, my plan for now is to finish "Catch My Heart" first before moving on to other projects. If you don't know what "Catch My Heart" is about here's the plot synopsis:
"Mary-Beth Parker seemingly has it all—a thriving career and a glamorous life in New York City. But a life-altering phone call sends her back to her hometown of Valentine, Alabama. Forced to confront her estranged father's failing health, Mary-Beth embarks on a journey of self-discovery, reconnection and rediscovers the charm and warmth of her southern roots.
Back home, she reunites with childhood friends. Among them is her best friend from childhood, Derek, with whom a deep connection resurfaces. As Mary-Beth navigates her past and confronts her fears, she learns that home truly is where the heart is."
And I don't want to do this every time, but just to give a brief explanation as to why a writer who in his short career is known for a horror/noir series is writing a romance novel and it's a simple answer. I just want to tell stories. Primarily, my stories are probably going to be in the horror genre. Occasionally though, a story like "Catch My Heart" will appear and I'll want to tell it. It's fun, it's challenging to me, writing something I'm not comfortable with.
So that's all for now! I've got a lot of things cooking in the story pot, so it's time to get back to them!
